Hello, I am Steve Suggs, salesperson recruiting training expert and author of the book Can They Sell. Welcome to my recruiting video blog. 2 and 1/2 minutes of training on recruiting the best salespeople.

Are you a happy sales manager? Are you recruiting happy salespeople? The other day, I had lunch with one of my best friends. He was telling me about a recent trip he took to Tijuana Mexico to work in an orphanage. He had a look on his face and a sparkle in his eye that I'd never seen before as he told me the story of being in the orphanage and holding a young girl's hand who had been rescued from a very tragic situation. As he told me the story of spending time loving and serving, I saw a countenance of happiness that consumed him and was contagious. I wanted what he had.

What was his source of great happiness? Since that moment, I've given a great deal of consideration to the definition of happiness.

Many people have many definitions, but I've come to the conclusion that we are happiest when we are loving and serving others.

The more we love and serve others, the more moments of happiness we have. The more moments of happiness we have, the easier it is to weather the tough times of life.

Being a happy sales manager comes from having an attitude of love and service to those who we lead. Our job as a sales leader is more enjoyable, more fulfilling and productive when we are happy and when we recruit happy salespeople. I recommend you look for salespeople who have other people in their life who they love, and love well.

Look for those salespeople who are serving their clients, their family, their communities, and you will hire the salesperson who will serve your company and your customers well. You will hire the happy salesperson. And, you will be happier.
